Hi @sheelu1,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP 15s laptop is showing a "USB device not recognized" notification repeatedly on Windows 11, here are some steps you can try to resolve the issue.
Restart Your Computer: Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve temporary issues with USB devices.
Update Windows: Make sure your Windows 11 is up to date. Microsoft releases updates that can include fixes for USB-related issues.
Check USB Connections: Ensure that all USB devices connected to your laptop are securely plugged in. Sometimes, loose connections can cause this error.
Try Different USB Ports: Plug the USB device into different USB ports on your laptop to see if the issue persists. This helps rule out a problem with a specific port.
Update USB Drivers: Outdated or corrupted USB drivers can cause this problem. You can update drivers manually through Device Manager:
- Right-click on the Start button and select "Device Manager."
- Expand the "Universal Serial Bus controllers" section.
- Right-click on each "USB Root Hub" and select "Update driver."
- Choose "Search automatically for updated driver software" and follow the on-screen instructions.
Uninstall USB Controllers: If updating drivers doesn't work, try uninstalling the USB controllers:
- Open Device Manager.
- Expand "Universal Serial Bus controllers."
- Right-click on each "USB Root Hub" and select "Uninstall device."
- Restart your computer. Windows will reinstall the USB drivers automatically.
Check for Hardware Issues: If the issue persists after trying the above steps, there may be a hardware problem with either the USB device or the laptop's USB ports. Test the USB device on another computer to determine if it's functioning properly.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
