Microsoft Windows 8.1 (32-bit)

i am reinstalling windows 8.1 after it had windows 10, it would not install normally and i erased the HDD to start over but i am having trouble with the BIOS not finding my usb, i have formatted it via CMD  on another pc and have windows 8.1 on it but it does not show up at all.

Hi:

 

The only suggestion I can offer would be to see if you can boot from the flash drive after you go into the BIOS, enable legacy mode and disable secure boot.

After you change the settings, have the flash drive in a USB port, turn on the PC, tap the ESC key at the beginning of the HP welcome screen to get the menu of options.

 

Select the F9 boot options menu and from that select the Legacy USB flash drive/diskette on key device and press the enter key.

There is no legacy option within bios so the usb won't boot it from a flash
