Does increasing virtual memory cause problems?

I doubled my virtual memory. Noticed a performance boost. Seems to me that with 225 gig Ram that 14-29 MB * virtual was not a big deal. Plenty of "how to" on the web: System About Advanced Performance Settings Advanced...see what you've got, change, restart. done. I keep a number of programs up at the same time. DNS [dragon naturally speaking Home] was so slow [on top of other programs] I nearly quit using it. Excel Launches faster. I would use system explorer to wait till it was out of the "Red" zone [ or resource monitor] to see when I could actually use the machine. Sorry: I'm too cheap to buy new, This will hold me for a while.
