Hi @Nazmul21

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

If the "Virus and Threat Protection" feature on your HP computer running Windows 11 isn't opening, it could be due to a software glitch or a configuration issue.

Here are some steps to troubleshoot and resolve the problem:

1. Restart Windows Security Services:

  • Press Windows + R, type services.msc, and press Enter.
  • Locate Windows Security Center Service (Wscsvc) and ensure it's running. If not, right-click it, select Start, and set the startup type to Automatic.

2. Run System File Checker (SFC) and DISM:

  • Open Command Prompt as an administrator.
  • Run the following commands one by one:sfc /scannow
    DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
  • These commands will scan and repair corrupted system files.

3. Reset Windows Security App:

  • Go to Settings > Apps > Installed Apps.
  • Search for Windows Security, click the three dots, and select Advanced Options.
  • Scroll down and click Reset.

4. Check Group Policy Settings:

  • Press Windows + R, type gpedit.msc, and press Enter.
  • Navigate to Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Windows Security > Virus and Threat Protection.
  • Ensure the setting Hide the Virus and Threat Protection area is set to Not Configured.

5. Update Windows:

  • Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and check for updates. Install any pending updates, as they may include fixes for this issue.

6. Reinstall Windows Security:

  • Open PowerShell as an administrator and run the following command:
    Add-AppxPackage -Register -DisableDevelopmentMode "C:\Windows\SystemApps\Microsoft.Windows.SecHealthUI_cw5n1h2txyewy\AppxManifest.xml"
  • Restart your computer and check if the issue is resolved.

7. Scan for Malware:

  • Use a trusted third-party antivirus or malware removal tool to ensure your system isn't infected, as malware can interfere with Windows Security.

If this solution hits the spot, please come back and click "Accepted Solution" to help others find the answer. And if you'd like to say thanks, select "Yes" on the bottom left of the public post, as that would make our day!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
