Hi @anto58,
Thank you for replying,
As I understand you are were having issues updating, and I'm glad to hear you finally got it working. However, you are having questions regarding the Creators update, don't worry I'll be really glad to help you with this.
If you are already on windows 10 then the creator’s update is important to ensure that the computer works correctly. Because it is not a regular windows update, but complete windows update that pretty much is like an Operating system reinstallation which should not cause you to lose data usually. Please check the FAQs for Creators update by clicking here It gives you all the information about Windows 10.
Hope this helps. Let me know how this goes. I genuinely hope the issue gets resolved without hassles and the unit works great.

Hi @anto58,
Thank you for visiting the HP Forums! A great place where you can find solutions for your issues with help from the community! I came across your post and wanted to assist you. I understand you are having issues with Windows update. Don't worry we'll work together to find a solution for you.
To provide you with an accurate solution, I'll need a few more details:
Have you recently made any software or hardware changes on the PC before the issue started?
Have you tried to run Windows Troubleshooter?
Did you check If the computer date and time are set correctly?
Do you have connectivity issues while performing the update?
In the meantime, let's try these steps here:
To change your computer's date and time
-
Open Date and Time by clicking the Start button
, clicking Control Panel , clicking Clock, Language, and Region , and then clicking Date and Time .
-
On the Date and Time tab, make sure that your computer's date and time are correct. If they're not, click Change date and time .
If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
-
In the Date and Time Settings dialog box, do the following:
-
To change the date, under Date , click the left or right arrows to find the current month in the calendar, and then click the current date.
-
To change the time, under Time , double-click the hour, minutes, or seconds that you want to change, and then click the arrows to increase or decrease the value.
-
-
When you have finished changing the time settings, click OK .
Fix 1: Run Windows Update Troubleshooter
Windows Update troubleshooter will detect the problem and solve it if it is detected. You just need to run the troubleshooter. Follow steps below:
1. Open Control Panel.
2. View by Small icons, select Troubleshooting.
3. Under System and Security, click Fix problems with Windows Update.
4. Click Next.
Then the troubleshooter will start detecting problems.
If Windows Update troubleshooter doesn’t fix the error, use Fix 2.
Fix 2: Remove Problem Windows Update Contents and Registry Keys
The error can be caused by corrupted files and registry keys. If that’s the case, you can delete the problem files and keys. Deleting registry keys incorrectly may cause serious problem. Before you do that, it is recommended that you back up the registry keys. Then you can restore the deleted registry keys if you need. See How to Back Up and Restore Registry.
Then follow steps below:
1. Press Win+R (Windows logo key and R key) at the same time. A Run dialog box will open.
2. Type services.msc in the run box and click OK button.
3. Find Windows Update service. Right-click on it and click Stop on the context menu.
4. Open C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution and delete all contents there.
5. Restart Windows Update service. Right-click on Windows Update service and click Start.
6. Open Run dialog box again. Type regedit in the run box and click OK. This is to open Registry Editor.
7. In Registry Editor, navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\WindowsUpdate.
8. In the right-pane, you will see keys WUServer and WUStatusServer. Right-click on each and select Delete.
9. Open Services again. Check if Windows Update service is started. If it is Stopped, start it.

thank you for your interesting.
This mornig i follow your step 1 suggestion. No good result.
But then i went in maintenance and i found no problem in update!
And i found W10 Creators Update installed!
Previously for some days, i postponed this installation.
So it could be:
- your step 1 suggestion had results after my 1st update attemp
- MS use questionable metods to force update it wants!
tank you very much
p.s. what do you think about W10 Creators?
