I'm trying to clean install Win10. When I have the BIOS boot from the flash drive then the screen goes black (if ISO) or black and frozen w/ flashing cursor (if install bootable install media). What am I doing wrong? Do I need to flash the BIOS? Is there some other installation method I should use?  I'm using EliteBook 2570p with i5, 500MB SDD, Win10, 8GB RAM (thinking of upgrading to 16).

Hi:

The only suggestion I can offer would be to try booting the flash drive from the USB 2 port.

On some of those older model PC's you could not boot from the USB 3 port.

Are you pressing the ESC key at boot and then selecting the F9 boot options menu and then selecting the flash drive?

That would be the best way to do it.
