Reminders - READ
Online Case Submission to HP Support is available to those whose devices registered and are still in Warranty.
Some regions display phone / chat contact information only after the case is submitted online
Not every issue is covered under the standard Hardware Warranty. Purchased Care Pack Warranties differ by contract.
HP is not a "general" repair facility: Requests for out-of-warranty repairs are usually not accepted.
If the problem is hardware, if your device is in Warranty, if your device is Registered, and you cannot submit your case to Support, let us know and we will forward a request.

HI, there the pc product number is 287SSAV and there is no failure code I can put in with the link that you sent me to follow the process as the pc is not turning on at all and think the issue is a fried motherboard so how would we go on with doing the warranty process without the failure code? Thanks RW

The key to submission to HP Support is whether the device is in-Warranty.
You will need the Serial Number to complete the submission.
The device should be in your control (as in you have it with you) -- it is not necessary that the device can be switched on.
Error codes are nice -- my understanding is that you need not have that information to start the process.
Submit a Warranty Repair case - describe the issue in the submission and go from there.
Thanks for not posting serial number or other information here --
