Thank you for joining HP Forums.

I'll be glad to help you 🙂

As I understand the webcam isn't working anymore,

No worries, as I'll be glad to help you, that said, I'll need a few more details to dissect your concern & provide an accurate solution:

Did you recently update your windows & was the setup interrupted?

Have you confirmed that you have a webcam?

(Click here to confirm, if you haven't) and yes, you have a webcam.

That said, here's a few things you need to do,

To resolve your concern:

Step 1: Look for webcam hardware

Take a moment to visually inspect the top of your computer's display. If your computer has a webcam, you should see a small lens in the top center, above the screen. Some models do not come with a webcam and the area where the webcam would normally reside is replaced by a small plastic plug.

   NOTE:

Often, there are small holes near the top center of your display. These holes are for the microphone or other sensors and do not contain a webcam.

  • If your computer does not have a built-in webcam, you must use an external USB webcam.

Step 2: Find and use the webcam software that came with your computer

If your computer came with a built-in webcam, HP has pre-installed software that you can use to record and share webcam video: either CyberLink YouCam, MediaSmart WebCam, or TouchSmart Webcam. Find these software products on your computer as follows:

  1. In Windows, search for and open one of the following programs.

    • YouCam (for All-in-One desktop PCs and many notebook PCs)

    • MediaSmart Webcam (for All-in-One desktop PCs and notebook PCs)

    • TouchSmart Webcam (for Touch PCs)

  2. Click the name of the webcam software from the search results list. If the name of your webcam software does not appear in the search results list, try searching again using one of the other names.

(By the end of this article all the issues should be resolved)

Do get back to me as I have a few more tricks up my sleeve,

That said, If I have helped you resolve the issue,
