My sister brought over her laptop HP PC 15s-fq2000 (20120AV) telling me that she cannot set it up. When I opened the laptop I find that someone set it up because it was requesting the pin #. She claimed to know nothing so I tried to recover her pin # until she tells me that she has never had an email address with Microsoft. I know hard to believe but the worst is that the computer was bought last summer so no warranty. Does anyone know a work around? Please help I am just beside myself, buy a laptop and then leave it buggered until the warranty is over. Duh!!!
Also why can I not put bitlocker in the subject line after all this is the issue.

You're very welcome.
Unfortunately, W11 needs the driver too.
You used 7-zip to unzip the exe file to its folder, correct?
Then you copy the driver folder to the USB flash drive.
Then at the screen where you get the no drives found error, click on the Load Driver box, browse to your USB flash drive, open the main folder 7-Zip created, open the F6 folder and if you check the box, it will only include the compatible driver.
At this point W10 should 'see' the hard drive and then you can proceed with the installation.

No pin # remembered and no Microsoft account also claimed never existed and no recollection of Bitlocker key. Basically screwed. My sister brought me her laptop that has never been used because she had trouble with setup. Somehow she got far enough to lock herself out with Bitlocker which setup when the pin was entered for Microsoft that she claims she never did. Regardless no way to get into NVME drive so I bought a new one but now the new drive is not seen either when trying to install Win 10. The drive is not seen by the bios or diskpart. Drivers anyone? I also already have Win 10 setup on USB for Win install.

Since the notebook as an Intel 11th gen core processor, there is a special process needed to install W10 on notebooks with the new Intel 11th gen core processors...
See the info at the link below.
Here is the link to the driver you need...
This package contains the Intel Rapid Storage Technology Driver for the supported notebook models and operating systems. The Intel Rapid Storage Technology is designed to provide functionality for the Intel Storage Controllers. The driver improves Serial ATA (SATA) disk performance with Native Command Queuing.
https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp111501-112000/sp111776.exe
There is an error in that document, and that is where HP tells you to right click on the Intel driver file and select Extract to
When I ran through the steps, I don't get an Extract to option when I right click on the file.
You will probably have the same issue. Download and install the free 7-zip file utility from the link below.
The 2nd file at the top of the page is for 64 bit.
Then you can right click on the exe file, select 7-Zip from the menu, and select Extract to: and let it extract the file into its folder name (sp111776), and copy that folder to your USB flash drive, and continue with the instructions.

I tried what you suggested but the driver is not being seen when I search the USB for the it. Do I need to do something besides extract and copy to the USB. which i noticed when looking over the files. If I install Win 11 instead would the drivers be there? . I Haven't a lot of time lately and your help is so appreciated. Thanks

I want to thank you Paul for hanging in with me. As soon as the laptop said there weren't any drivers here I believed the message. Duh wake up. I am all setup now and have made a image backup so no driver problems again.
Thanks again my sister is over the moon.
