where would I purchase a win 8 install disk

I guess I need to buy a new install disk for my hp pavilion g6 that had factory installed win 8 had hd failure so I have new 500 g HD

You can download the iso directly from Microsoft and burn the image on a DVD or use an application such as Rufus to create a bootable Pen Drive with the OS on it.

After installing, let Windows completely update and it will find most or all drivers for the notebook.

You can then install HP support assistant which can help with drivers and much more:
