will not boot, maybe hard drive ? not even 2 years old laptop

computer comes on goes to hp logo and spins. nothing more. I checked the hard drive says smart check passed and hard drive 1 short failed  product id L9S24AV

this is windows 10 .

did an up date from hp as it mentioned and this has happened ? I do not even know what has happened . but my hard drive should not been bad just having this long.  I just do not understand why this has happened ? nor what to do. it will not boot to recovery where I troubleshoot. the f11 just will not take me there . what am I to do and if needed a part or windows 10 program where do I get it . I think the program is there but cannot get there ? the computer will come on but will not go pass the logo hp and just keeps spinning. .

Not really that unusual for a laptop hdd to fail in 2 years. The heat produced by new faster hardware generates more heat which is a factor.

Microsoft provides the free Media Creation Tool to download files and create a Windows 10 usb flash drive.Advantage is you will have latest updated version of Windows 10. At least 8gb flash drive required:

On the What do you want to do? page, select Create installation media for another PC, and then select Next.

thank you I have looked inside the computer at the parts and I bought this computer new and see inside alot of these parts are not new they have a tag on them that says spare. I am very diapointed with this and everything was to be new ? I bought this new and expected new everything . I gave way up there for this computer . I never di get to ue the office because the number was not sent to me . even got ahold of hp about these parts and no answers about it . even way about this computer what does smart check passed but short dst failed what does that mean ? failed id is otwelm 82H9A9-MFPX6J-60UGO3
