@saimsk,

Welcome to our HP community forum!

Installing a Linux-based operating system on your HP laptop does not void the hardware warranty. However, there are a few things to keep in mind:

  1. Software Support: HP might not provide support for software issues related to the Linux OS. If you contact HP for support, they may ask you to revert to the original OS (Windows 11) before assisting you with troubleshooting.

  2. Hardware Issues: If you encounter hardware problems, your warranty should still be valid. However, if HP determines that the issue is directly caused by the new operating system (which is rare but possible in some cases), they may not cover the repair under warranty.

  3. Reinstallation Requirement: For warranty service, HP might require you to reinstall Windows 11 before servicing your laptop, as part of their diagnostic process.

It would be a good idea to create a recovery USB drive for Windows 11 before switching to Linux, so you can easily revert back if needed.

Kind Regards,
