hello forum, when trying to install the above, i kept getting the message, SELECTED BOOT IMAGE FAILED TO AUTHENTICATE, PRESS OK,eg enter BUTTON  TO CONTINUE, by doing this the laptop shuts down, each time i do a system recovery using the windows media creation tool, to get back to win 8.1 and the windows 10 one too same message , so days of  perservaring with the recovery progams and the ESC, button i reset the bios settings to default , used my original recovery media discs and now have got it to start up but back on windows 8 and its now saying in the windows updates section 196 updates waiting, i look at them and they are the KB... SECURITY UPDATES, probably old ones, any advice on  bios settings updates  thanks kind regards andy

  • When was the last time the computer was working fine?
  • Have you made any software or hardware changes on the computer?
  • Have you performed any troubleshooting steps before posting?

 

Meanwhile, I recommend you to follow the steps in the below article to update the bios on your computer.

Once the bios is updated, I recommend you to doing the windows upgrade and check if it works.
