hello
I have a HP EliteBook Folio 1040 G3 14" (V1B13EA)
Serial Number: [edit]
It had preinstalled licensed Windows 7. Complete with a Laptop - there were disks with OC Windows 10 Professional and instructions for installing licensed Windows 10. To do this - the instructions say - delete all sections of the hard drive, including the Recovery partition and install Windows 10. After removal and further installation - my license is not activated. It shows an error that there is no valid Windows digital license. I ask for your assistance in solving this situation. How can I install Windows 10 and activate it with a BIOS-flashed OEM license?

Hi:
The first thing to do is to confirm that there is a W10 Pro product key in the BIOS.
Use the tool that I zipped up and attached below to see the version of W10 and the product key that is in the BIOS.
W10 Pro should have picked up the key and automatically activated.

I checked with such a program, only the windows 7 key comes out, but the box says in the system the windows 7 Pro software is pre-installed, as well as a license and multimedia programs for the windows 10 Pro software.
To switch from one version to another, you must uninstall one version and then install another.

as far as I understand, the key should automatically be rewritten to a new one from windows 10.
we bought 2 laptops of this model at the same time. on the second, it was immediately reinstalled on windows 10, the key was activated. Windows 7 was used on this laptop until a message came out about the termination of support. now reinstalled windows but the key on it fails activation

If you still have W7 on the one PC, try the direct upgrade from 7 to 10 by clicking on the Update Now button at the link below.
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10
If you are asked to enter a product key during the installation process, select the 'I don't have a product key' option and see if W10 activates that way.

First, try to know the product key of your Windows OS. Here try this:
To find the product key and activate your windows follow the below steps :
Press Windows key + X
Click Windows PowerShell (admin)
Enter the following command:
wmic path SoftwareLicensingService get OA3xOriginalProductKey
Hit Enter
The product key will be revealed.
Let us know whether you find the product key.
