My windows 11 hp laptop system recovery is not working, the error code is 0×c0000185. I don't have any recovery disk or USB.

Hi:

If your notebook came with Windows from HP, it should be supported by the HP cloud recovery tool.

You can also use the HP cloud recovery tool to reinstall Windows because that should have the storage controller drivers included in the factory image.

Since you have to use the utility on another PC, so you will need to enter your notebook's product number in the tool's search window in order to proceed to make the recovery media.

You have to enter the notebook's full product number 1W9Z3AV#XXX, and I don't know what the 3 characters (XXX) are for notebooks sold in Africa.

That info should be on your PC's case or in the BIOS' system information window.
