HP ENVY 17.3 inch Laptop PC 17-ch1000 IDS Base Model
Microsoft Windows 11

I've tried to get used to windows 11, but it is full of confusion. I want to do a complete copy of everything on my older HP Laptop envy dv7 including the operating system  using windows 10 (which I like) and never see windows 11 again (or until it is improved or replaced. I should have known better with Windows 10 being so good, and then got the alternate generation windows curse. So, how do I accomplish this? Yes yes I just heard about the 10 day trap, but this is unworkable..  My newer laptop is still under warranty.

@jbundy481

Few years back I used few machines at the same time for support reason

  • one ran Windows Vista,
  • one ran Windows 7
  • one ran Windows 8/8.1
  • one ran Windows 10

After moving to Windows 11,  now I only use Windows 10 and Windows 11 at the same time (2 machines). For all basic tasks the way Windows 11 and Windows 10 work very close if not the same.

Sooner or later you have to move up, why not do that now ? Windows 10 from your dv7 won't work on your new machine because invalid license key

Hope this makes sense

Regards.
