Hi
Most of this should help with Windows EIGHT.
KeyFinderInstaller may help....
https://www.magicaljellybean.com/keyfinder/
Doing research, and none of the methods are mine, I have some, simple single lines of code that will list the same value for your Windows 10 Product Key…
Two for Windows 10 and one for Linux.
W10 Using cmd.exe as an Administrator (copy and paste accordingly).
wmic path softwarelicensingservice get OA3xOriginalProductKey >> c:\ProdKey.txt
Creates a text file called ProdKey.txt on your C:\ area.
Next is a PowerShell command, as Administrator...
(Get-WmiObject -query ‘select * from SoftwareLicensingService’).OA3xOriginalProductKey
but it will run within W10 using cmd.exe as an Administrator.
powershell (Get-WmiObject -query ‘select * from SoftwareLicensingService’).OA3xOriginalProductKey
Last, but not least....
Linux@Lubuntu:~$ sudo cat /sys/firmware/acpi/tables/MSDM | strings | tail -n 1

So you can make an install disk DVD/USB and do a clean install when you are ready, providing the OS is licenced.
You may have to buy a licence.
Then setup the WiFi. Do you have an ethernet cable capability?

The early Stream 11's came with Windows 8.1 with Bing so that is the only version of 8.1 that will activate. The Windows 8.1 with Bing installation media was not offered officially from Microsoft for download.
If it came with Windows 10, or was updated to Windows 10, you can download a current Windows 10 install image from Microsoft and install that and it will activate. You would need to install drivers from hp.com following the installation for any devices that don't work such as Wifi.
