boot device not found

Hi @suman48,

"Boot device not found" means the PC can't find the drive that Windows starts from. Often it's a BIOS setting or a loose connection, and sometimes a drive fault.

  1. Turn the PC off, hold the Power button for 15 seconds, and turn it on again.
  2. Press F10 at startup to open the BIOS and select Restore Defaults / Load Setup Defaults (F9). Save with F10, then restart.
  3. Press Esc, then F2 at startup and run the Hard Drive / Storage test in HP diagnostics.

If the drive test fails, the drive needs replacement. Please share your model and the test result.
