Hi zintis
If you are encountering issues with switching off S mode and receiving an "Error code: 0xC004F213" indicating no product key found on your HP 17.3 inch Laptop PC 17-c0000, here are the steps you can follow to resolve these issues:
Switching Off S Mode
Open Windows Settings:
- Click on the Start menu.
- Select Settings.
- Go to Update & Security then choose Activation.
Switch out of S Mode:
- In the "Switch to Windows 10 Home" or "Switch to Windows 10 Pro" section, select Go to the Store.
- On the Switch out of S mode page in Microsoft Store, select the Get button. Formatting your PC in S mode to standard Windows 10 could take a few minutes.
- Follow the prompts to switch out of S Mode.
Resolving the Product Key Error
Check Windows Activation:
- Open Settings.
- Navigate to Update & Security and then Activation.
- If your copy of Windows isn’t activated, you’ll see the activation status here.
Re-enter Product Key:
- If the error code persists, you might need to re-enter your Windows product key.
- Go back to the Activation tab in Update & Security.
- Click on Change product key and enter the product key you received with your device.
Contact HP Support:
- If you do not have your product key or cannot switch out of S Mode, it may be best to contact HP Support for further assistance. They can provide guidance specific to your device and country.
I hope the above is helpful

Hi zintis
How to Leave Safe Mode Windows 11:
Safe Mode is a diagnostic mode that starts your computer with a limited set of files and drivers. By following these steps, you’ll disable Safe Mode and get back to the full Windows 11 experience..
Step 1: Open the System Configuration Tool
Press ‘Windows + R’ to open the Run dialog box, type “msconfig,” and hit Enter.
The System Configuration tool is an essential utility where you can manage how Windows starts. By typing “msconfig” into the Run dialog, you gain access to various boot settings, including those for Safe Mode.
Step 2: Go to the Boot Tab
Click on the “Boot” tab to view boot options.
The Boot tab in the System Configuration tool displays all the boot settings. Here, you can see if Safe Mode is enabled and make necessary changes to boot options.
Step 3: Uncheck Safe Boot
Under the Boot options, find “Safe boot” and uncheck the box next to it.
Unchecking Safe Boot will disable the feature, ensuring that the next time you restart your computer, it won’t start in Safe Mode.
Step 4: Apply Changes and Restart
Click “Apply,” then “OK,” and finally restart your computer.
Applying changes confirms the new settings. Once you restart your computer, it should boot into normal mode, leaving Safe Mode behind.
Step 5: Reboot Your Computer
Restart your computer to apply these changes and exit Safe Mode.
Rebooting is the final step in ensuring your system starts normally. Upon restart, Windows 11 will load with all features and drivers, as Safe Mode is disabled.
After completing these steps, your computer will restart normally, and you’ll exit Safe Mode. All the features and services disabled during Safe Mode will be active again, allowing you to use your computer to its full potential.
Tips for Leaving Safe Mode Windows 11
- Always save any open work before making changes to boot settings.
- If you’re stuck in Safe Mode, try restarting your computer first before changing settings.
- Use the System Configuration tool only when necessary, as incorrect settings can affect boot behavior.
- Familiarize yourself with recovery options if boot settings cause unexpected behavior.
- Consider documenting any changes made during Safe Mode to reverse them if needed.
In your situation, the fact that you are in S mode might be related to the activation issue. Sometimes, a clean installation in S mode might not automatically pick up the license correctly. Try switching out of S mode first and then see if Windows activates automatically or allows you to troubleshoot the activation.
Regarding the "No Valid Product Key" Message
This message usually indicates that Windows is not activated. Here's what you can try:
Check your Activation Status:
- Go to Settings > System > Activation.
- See what the activation status says.
Troubleshoot Activation:
- On the Activation page, if it says Windows isn't activated, you might see a Troubleshoot option. Click on it and follow the on-screen instructions.
"I changed hardware on this device recently":
- If you've made significant hardware changes to your computer, Windows might need to be reactivated. In the Activation settings, look for an option like "I changed hardware on this device recently" and follow the steps. You'll likely need to sign in with your Microsoft account.
Digital License:
- If you upgraded to Windows 11 from a previously activated version of Windows 10 or bought a digital license from the Microsoft Store, you likely have a digital license linked to your Microsoft account. Make sure you are signed in with the same Microsoft account.
Finding your Product Key (if you have one):
- If Windows came pre-installed: The product key is usually embedded in the computer's firmware (BIOS/UEFI). Windows should automatically detect it. You might not have a physical sticker with the key.
- If you bought Windows separately: The product key should be in the packaging, on a sticker, or in a confirmation email if you purchased it digitally.
- Using Command Prompt or PowerShell: You can try to retrieve the product key using these tools, though it might not always work, especially with OEM licenses.
- Open Command Prompt as administrator and run:
wmic path softwareLicensingService get OA3xOriginalProductKey
- Open PowerShell as administrator and run:PowerShell
(Get-WmiObject -query 'select * from SoftwareLicensingService').OA3xOriginalProductKey
- Open Command Prompt as administrator and run:
Switching Out of S Mode:
- Since you're in S mode, some troubleshooting steps might be limited. You might need to switch out of S mode first to perform certain actions.
- To switch out of S mode:
- Go to Settings > System > Activation.
- Look for a section like "Switch to Windows 11 Pro" (even if you have Home S mode, this is the way to exit S mode).
- Click on Go to the Store.
- On the "Switch out of S mode" (or similar) page in the Microsoft Store, click Get.
- Follow the on-screen instructions.
- Important: Switching out of S mode is a one-time process. You cannot go back to S mode after switching.
Contact Microsoft Support: If none of the above steps work, it's best to contact Microsoft Support directly for assistance with activation issues.
