Hi @Perezzz_

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

I can understand how discouraging it must feel to be stuck in this loop for so long, especially when everything else seems to work but you never reach the password entry page. You’ve shown real persistence by continuing to try, so let’s carefully walk through what’s happening and how to move forward.

The page you mentioned — www.hp.com/go/techcenter/startup — is HP’s Startup and Recovery resource. When your system redirects there instead of showing the password prompt, it usually means the startup process is being interrupted by recovery or reset instructions.

Steps to try

Check Boot Order in BIOS

  • Restart your computer and press Esc or F10 repeatedly at startup to enter BIOS Setup.
  • Ensure the primary boot device is your internal hard drive or SSD.
  • If another device is listed first, adjust the order and save changes.

Run Startup Repair

  • Power on the computer and immediately press F11 to open Recovery options.
  • Select Troubleshoot > Advanced Options > Startup Repair.
  • This will scan for issues preventing the password screen from appearing.

Perform System File Check

  • Boot into Windows if possible.
  • Open Command Prompt (Admin) and type:
    sfc /scannow
  • This checks and repairs corrupted system files that may block login.

Reset Windows Credentials Cache

  • If the password screen still doesn’t appear, restart and press Shift + F8 to enter Safe Mode.
  • In Safe Mode, log in with your account and reset your password.
  • Restart normally and check if the password prompt appears.

Update BIOS and Drivers

  • Visit the support page for your exact model:
    HP Software and Driver Downloads
  • Download the latest BIOS and chipset drivers.
  • Updating ensures proper startup handling.

Run HP PC Hardware Diagnostics

  • Restart and press F2 at startup.
  • Run the System Test > Fast Test to confirm hardware is functioning correctly.
  • If all passes, the issue is software-related.

You’ve already endured this problem for a long time, and I appreciate your patience. These steps will help isolate whether the startup loop is caused by boot order, corrupted files, or recovery settings.
