Hi @nathalie_masala,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to assist you.
If the Google Play Store has disappeared from your Chromebook despite it being updated, the issue could be related to the settings, compatibility, or an update glitch. Here's how you can troubleshoot and resolve the issue:
1. Check If Google Play Store is Enabled
- Go to Settings.
- Scroll down and select Apps.
- Look for the Google Play Store option.
- If it’s turned off, enable it by toggling the switch to the “On” position.
2. Verify Chromebook Compatibility
- Some Chromebooks don’t support the Play Store. Although you had it before, check if it’s listed as supported for the Play Store here.
- If your Chromebook is supported but Play Store is missing, proceed to the next steps.
3. Restart Your Chromebook
- Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve missing features after an update.
- Click the Time in the bottom-right corner.
- Select Power Off and turn the Chromebook back on.
4. Remove and Re-add Your Google Account
- Sign out of your Google Account:
- Go to Settings > Accounts > Google Accounts.
- Remove your account.
- Sign back in and check if the Play Store reappears.
5. Reset the Chromebook
If the issue persists, reset your Chromebook:
- Go to Settings > Advanced > Reset Settings.
- Select Powerwash.
- After the reset, re-enable the Play Store under Settings > Apps.
6. Reinstall Missing Updates
- If an update caused the issue, check for any available updates or patches:
- Go to Settings > About Chrome OS > Check for Updates.
Please mark this post as “Accepted Solution” if the issue is resolved and if you feel this reply was helpful click “Yes”.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a great day ahead!
