Hi @user_needs_help,

If your HP ZBook 15 G3 touchpad is not supporting the scrolling feature, it could be due to settings or driver issues. Here’s how you can enable scrolling functionality:

  1. Update Drivers:

    • Ensure that the touchpad drivers are updated. Visit the HP support page to download and install the latest touchpad driver specific to your operating system.
  2. Check Touchpad Settings:

    • Go to Settings > Devices > Touchpad.
    • Ensure that the scrolling feature is enabled. Look for settings that enable "Two-finger scrolling" or "Scrolling" and make sure they are turned on.
  3. Access Synaptics Control Panel:

    • If your touchpad uses Synaptics drivers, you can manage advanced settings via the Synaptics Control Panel:
    • Open the Control Panel and navigate to Mouse.
    • Look for the tab indicating your touchpad (often labeled with Synaptics or the brand name).
    • In the touchpad settings, enable multi-finger gestures or scrolling options.
  4. Registry Adjustment (Advanced Users):

    • If the above steps don't solve the issue, you can try adjusting the registry settings. Proceed with caution:
    • Open the Registry Editor by typing regedit into the Windows search and pressing Enter.
    • Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER -> Software -> Synaptics -> SynTP -> TouchPadPS2.
    • Look for entries related to scrolling. Verify their settings; they might need enabling.
  5. Test in Safe Mode or Different User Profile:

    • Boot your laptop in Safe Mode to see if drivers or third-party applications are causing the issue.
    • Alternatively, create a new user profile in Windows and see if the problem persists.
  6. Windows Updates:

    • Make sure your Windows operating system is up-to-date, as updates can occasionally resolve hardware compatibility issues.

Hello user_needs_help,

Thank you for posting your concern,

If you're experiencing issues with the touchpad on your HP ZBook 15 G3, particularly with scrolling, it may not necessarily be due to a lack of feature, but rather a configuration issue. Here are some steps you can take to enable or fix touchpad scrolling:

Enable Scrolling on Your Touchpad

  1. Update Touchpad Drivers:

    • Make sure your touchpad drivers are up-to-date. Visit the HP Support website to download the latest drivers specific to your model.
  2. Check Touchpad Settings:

    • Go to Settings > Devices > Touchpad.
    • Check if two-finger scrolling is enabled. You should find an option to turn on/off the two-finger scroll.
  3. Use Synaptics Pointing Device Settings:

    • Open Control Panel > Mouse > Device Settings (or TouchPad).
    • Look for a tab related to multi-finger or gesture settings.
    • Ensure that two-finger scrolling is enabled.
  4. Check for Additional Software:

    • Sometimes additional software like the Synaptics or ELAN driver extends touchpad functionality. Make sure you have it installed and configured.
  5. Restart Your Computer:

    • A simple restart can sometimes resolve intermittent issues with the touchpad.
  6. Windows Updates:

    • Make sure your operating system is fully updated, as updates can sometimes address hardware-related issues.
  7. Hardware Troubleshooting:

    • If none of the software solutions work, the issue could be hardware-related. Check with HP support or authorized service centers for repair options if needed.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, there might be a need to look into hardware servicing or further technical support from HP.
