Reset the Camera App

  1. Go to Settings > Apps > Apps & features.
  2. Find the camera app and select it.
  3. Click on Advanced options and then select Reset.

Reinstall the Camera Driver

  1. In Device Manager, right-click on your camera and select Uninstall device.
  2. Restart your laptop. Windows should automatically reinstall the camera driver.

Check for Windows Updates

  • Go to Settings > Update & Security and check for any available updates. Sometimes, updates can fix issues with hardware compatibility.

Check for Third-Party Conflicts

  • If you have third-party security software, it might be blocking access to the camera. Temporarily disable it and see if that resolves the issue.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

Hi @EZ2024,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

The error code 0xA00F4244 typically indicates that Windows cannot detect a camera, which can be frustrating. Here are some steps you can try to resolve this issue with your HP webcam.

Check Camera Connection

  • If you're using an external webcam, ensure it is properly connected to your laptop. Try plugging it into a different USB port.
  • If it's a built-in camera, make sure nothing is blocking it.

Restart Your Laptop

  • Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve hardware detection issues.

Update or Roll Back Camera Drivers

Update Drivers:

  • Press Windows + X and select Device Manager.
  • Expand the Imaging devices section.
  • Right-click on your camera and select Update driver.
  • Choose Search automatically for updated driver software.

Roll Back Drivers (if the issue started after a driver update):

  • In Device Manager, right-click your camera, select Properties.
  • Go to the Driver tab and click Roll Back Driver (if the option is available).

Enable Camera in Privacy Settings

  1. Go to Settings > Privacy > Camera.
  2. Ensure that Allow apps to access your camera is turned on.
  3. Check that the specific app you're trying to use has access to the camera.

Run the Windows Troubleshooter

  1. Go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot.
  2. Select Additional troubleshooters.
  3. Click on Hardware and Devices and run the troubleshooter.

Check BIOS Settings

  • Sometimes, the camera might be disabled in the BIOS. To check this:
    1. Restart your laptop and enter BIOS/UEFI settings (usually by pressing F10, Esc, or Del during boot).
    2. Look for any camera-related settings and ensure it’s enabled.

I accept solution and appreciate help. The strange thing is that I didn't have these problems before. The drivers are all updated, and sometimes just a reboot works, but after a while the same thing happens, the camera is not detected. Strange. For now it works with a restart, the other solutions have been verified but they are ok. Thanks for help.
