HP 14 Laptop (30J32AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

14-DQ2053CL will not charge via USB-C, though charger and cable meet specifications (65w, PD) and charges other fast charge devices "super fast".

Normal charge through regular charge port.

The product specs for your notebook indicate USB-C data transfer but doesn't mention anything about charging capability.

The maintenance and service guide on your notebook model series' support page is for the older model series, but does indicate the USB-C port is for data transfer only (chapter 1, top of page 3.

Thanks for your input. I had read somewhere that it does support usb-c charging ( requiring at least 45w PD charger), and user guide does not indicate that it does not (unless I missed something).  At this point, I will assume that it does not support  usb-c charging.

With increasing inquiry by users and increasing use of usb-c charging in laptops generally, it seems HP could simply spell it out for us somewhere clearly in support pages.  Frustration in customers/users looking for specific answers to common questions is not likely something HP intentionally wants to create.

You're very welcome.

Chapter 2, page top of page 4 of the user guide indicates this about the USB-C port:

Connects a USB device, provides data transfer, and (for select products) charges small devices (such as a smartphone) when
the computer is on or in Sleep mode.
