HP 15.6 inch Laptop PC 15-fd0000 (70R02AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

Hello. Are there any software adjustments required in order to have the laptop closed all the time, connected to an external monitor? Can this configuration work, where the laptop is always plugged in, and always allowed to go to sleep, without ever having to fuss with the lid and power button? So far, the configuration is troublesome. Thanks.

In Windows 11, go to Settings/System/Power&Battery/Lid, Power & Sleep button controls:

You will find settings for "Plugged in" and "On battery". You can set "Closing the lid will make my PC" to "Do nothing".

You can set sleep timeouts in Settings/System/Power&Battery/Screen, Sleep & Hibernate timeouts.
