Hi @rohanronny98,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd be glad to help you!
It seems like the issue with the battery charging percentage on your HP Pavilion 15-cs2111tx may be related to the BIOS update. Sometimes BIOS updates can affect hardware functions, including battery management. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try to resolve the issue:
1. Perform a Battery Reset:
- Shut down your laptop.
- Unplug the charger and remove the battery (if it’s removable).
- Press and hold the power button for about 15-20 seconds to drain any residual charge.
- Reinsert the battery and plug in the charger.
- Power on the laptop and check if the battery percentage is working correctly.
2. Update Battery Driver:
- Open Device Manager (right-click on Start and select Device Manager).
- Expand the Batteries section.
- Right-click on Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery and select Uninstall Device.
- Restart your laptop to automatically reinstall the driver.
3. Run the HP Battery Check:
- Download and run the HP Support Assistant from the HP website.
- Use it to run a battery check to see if any issues are detected.
- Or click here
4. Roll Back the BIOS:
If the issue started after the BIOS update, you can consider rolling back to the previous BIOS version:
- Go to the HP Support page for your laptop model.
- Download the previous version of the BIOS from the Drivers & Software section.
- Install the previous version and check if the battery percentage issue is resolved.
5. Perform a Hard Reset (if battery is non-removable):
- Shut down the laptop.
- Disconnect the charger.
- Press and hold the power button for about 15-20 seconds.
- Reconnect the charger and power on the laptop.
I am sharing a few more steps in the next post on how to roll back Bios, if needed.
Keep me posted for further assistance

Hi @rohanronny98,
Rolling back the BIOS on your HP Pavilion 15-cs2111tx is a process that involves reinstalling a previous version of the BIOS. Here's a step-by-step guide to help you safely roll back the BIOS:
Note:
- Downgrading BIOS may not always be supported in certain laptops if the update was critical for security. If you encounter an error saying the rollback isn’t allowed, you may need to contact HP phone support for assistance.
- If your rollback fails, you might need to perform a BIOS recovery, which involves using a USB drive with a BIOS recovery tool. Click here
Step 1: Download the Previous BIOS Version
- Visit the HP Support website:
- Go to HP Support.
- Search for your laptop model: HP Pavilion 15-cs2111tx.
- Click on Drivers & Software.
- In the list of drivers, find the section for BIOS.
- Look for the older version of the BIOS (before F.32) and download it to your computer.
Step 2: Prepare Your Laptop
Plug in your laptop charger: Ensure that the laptop is connected to the power adapter throughout the process. Do not proceed if the battery is critically low or without a power source.
Save Your Work: Close all open applications and back up your important data in case something goes wrong during the rollback.
Step 3: Install the Previous BIOS Version
Locate the downloaded BIOS file:
- The file is usually an executable (.exe) format. It will likely be in your Downloads folder.
Run the BIOS installer:
- Double-click the downloaded BIOS file.
- Follow the on-screen instructions.
- The installer will typically restart your laptop and begin the BIOS downgrade process.
During the rollback process:
- Do not interrupt the process (don’t shut down, unplug, or close the lid). The laptop will restart a few times.
Step 4: Verify the BIOS Version
After the rollback is complete, your laptop will restart.
Check the BIOS version:
- Press Esc while the laptop is booting to open the startup menu.
- Press F10 to enter BIOS Setup.
- In the BIOS, check if the version has been rolled back to the one you selected.
Exit BIOS and let your system boot normally.
Step 5: Check if the Battery Issue is Resolved
After the rollback, observe if the battery percentage issue is resolved. If the problem persists, there may be other factors causing the issue (such as a battery calibration problem or a hardware issue), and further troubleshooting might be needed.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance
