Dear Sir/Madam

I could not fully install any of the drivers I downloaded from the HP official website. I download the driver and it automatically goes through the installation process. It does not take any action after the installation is completed. For example, I installed the parking print reader driver and it did not install any software. Even though I have identified my fingerprint on the Windows opening screen, it does not open. Finger reader does not work at all. The same goes for the video card driver. I just bought my computer and I cannot use it to its full performance. I request your help.

Best Regards

Hello Koulu,

Troubleshooting HP Driver Installation Issues

If your fingerprint reader or other hardware is not functioning after installing drivers from the HP website, consider the following steps to resolve the issue:

  1. Ensure Compatibility:

    • Verify that the downloaded driver is compatible with your operating system version and hardware. Check HP's website for compatibility information.
  2. Driver Installation Process:

    • Make sure the driver is fully installed:
      • After downloading, run the installation file.
      • Accept the license agreement.
      • Use the default installation path.
      • Wait for any command prompt or installation windows to close automatically.
  3. Check Driver Status:

    • Open 'Device Manager':
      • Find the appropriate category (e.g., Biometric devices for a fingerprint reader).
      • Right-click the device and select 'Properties'.
      • Check if the driver version is correct and consistent with what you installed.
      • If the driver is not active or there’s an issue, try updating it through 'Device Manager'.
  4. Update Driver Manually:

    • In 'Device Manager', right-click the device and select 'Update Driver'.
    • Choose ‘Browse my computer for driver software’ to manually select the driver if necessary.
    • Ensure you select the driver with the correct version number.
  5. Troubleshoots Errors:

    • If you encounter an error stating the driver is not supported on your OS version, verify that your system version matches the driver requirements.
  6. Windows Updates:

    • Use Windows Updates to find any available driver updates that might resolve compatibility issues.

By following these guidelines, you should be able to address the installation issues and enable your fingerprint reader or other hardware components. If problems persist, reach out to HP Customer Support for more specific assistance related to your device.
