HP Pavillion Model 17-f1210nr
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

I'm not sure of the product name is correct as the characters are very tiny and hard to read.  I should also mention that this lapto came with Win8.1 and I had it wiped and Win7 installed.

In the very early morning hours of November 12, I turned my laptop on for the first time in a month.  AMD Radeon wanted to download and install updates, something which I allowed.  Ever since then, at every startup, I get the following error popup and it stays on top of everything until I click OK.

AccelerometerSt.exe - Application Error

The application was unable to start correctly (0xc00007b). Click OK to close the application.

The exe is located in C:\Program Files (x86)\Hewlett-Packard\HP 3D DriveGuard\AccelerometerSt.exe

If I put that in a windows explorer bar and hit the Enter key, I get a stays on top error popup that says the following

AccelorometerSt.exe - System error

The program can't start because mfc120u.dll is missing from your computer.  Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem.

I'm no computer technician, but I know what it does.  It's what detects if my laptop is dropped and snaps the hard drive reader arm back into its resting spot before impact to prevent a head crash which would destroy the hard drive

I need to know the exact page where I can go to download the install file needed to fix the problem.

When I tried to run that, after it got to the part where it actually starts installing, I got this message

Error 1722.  There is a problem with this Windows Installer package.  A program run as part of the setup did not finish as expected.  Contact your support personell or package vendor.  Action RemoveMobilityCenterTile64, location: ...\MSI6096.t...

Then I noticed that C:\Program Files (x86)\Hewlett-Packard\HP 3D DriveGuard no longer existed.  I restarted and the AccelerometerSt.exe - Application Error message did not appear.  I tried to run the install again and this time, the install finished correctly and when I restarted to finish the install the error did not appear and HP 3D Drive Guard shows in installed programs.

Thank you very much for your help!  I do appreciate it!

When reinstalling HP 3D Driveguard , I noticed that it required me to have Visual C++ 2012 installed as well. The installer took care of that automatically, but I felt it was relevant to mention because I had just uninstalled several versions of Visual C++ (2005, 2008, 2012, 2013) that were installed on my system. I got the error for the first time after rebooting once I had all of them uninstalled. Removing Visual C++ was probably the core issue that resulted in the error.
