Hi,
3d DriveGuard runs under the entry HP Service - you can see this using task manager or from the entry in Windows Services - hold down the Windows key and press R then into the Run window, type services.msc and hit enter.

Hi,
The latest version of the DriveGuard software just installs the driver ( located in Device Manager, System devices, HP Mobile Data Protection Sensor ) and the required services - there is no longer the systray component as it created problems in previous versions of Windows 10.

Hi,
Hold down the Windows key and press R
Into the Run window, type devmgmt.msc and hit enter.
In Device Manager, expand System devices, then right click the entry for HP Mobile Data Protection Sensor, select Properties and then click on the Driver tab - the latest version should show as 7.0.1.1
If you have an earlier version, the latest can be downloaded from the following link.

Hello,
In my EliteBook 8540w (hardware IDs ACPI\VEN_HPQ&DEV_0004, Matching device ID acpi\hpq6007) running Win 10 Pro build 17134.rs4_release.180410-1804 I upgraded accelerometer drivers from ver. 4.2.2.1 to ver. 7.0.1.1 then with control panel Programs and Features option uninstalled HP 3D DriveGuard (ver. 6.x.x.x), but now I cannot see hpsrv (HP Service) service in services (I used to see HP 3D icon before, then after some updates through versions 5.x.x.x 6.x.x.x used to see hpserv service) which according to task manager was stopped.)
Installing HP 3D DriveGuard (both sp83846 and sp84595) finishes with poping-up 'error 1722 There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program run that is a part of the setup did not finish as expected. Action Installdriver_64 location c:\...accelerometer.inf /installdrv' but HP 3D DriveGuard 6.0.45.1 visible again in Programs and Features but also pop-up 'InstallShield Wizard Completed The wizard was interupted before HP 3D DriveGuard could be completely instaled. Your system has not be modified. To complete installation at another time please run setup again' and hpsrv (HP Service) gets visible in task manager as stopped.
The above is misleading and suggest some flaw with HP and/or Windows 10 software.
My questions are:
What is the diffrenece between latest softpack updates sp84595 and sp83846 ?
Do we need to run two separate softpacks to install (1) acelerometer drivers and (2) HP 3D DriveGuard software?
