Hi @PraneethDoosam,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

In Windows 11 Home Single Language edition, the built-in support for encrypting individual folders through the Properties dialog is not available. This feature, known as Encrypting File System (EFS), is included in Windows Pro, Enterprise, and Education editions but not in the Home edition.

Here’s what you can do given your situation:

1. Check Your Windows Edition

Ensure that you are indeed using the Windows 11 Home Single Language edition. You can verify this by going to:

  1. Settings: Press Win + I to open the Settings app.
  2. System: Select System from the sidebar.
  3. About: Click on About.
  4. Windows Specifications: Here you will see your Windows edition listed.

2. Use Alternative Encryption Methods

  • A powerful open-source tool that creates encrypted volumes or containers. Download it from VeraCrypt’s official website.

BitLocker (for external drives):

  • While BitLocker Drive Encryption is not available for individual folders in Windows Home, you can use it to encrypt entire external drives if you have an external drive. To do this:
    • Settings: Go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Device Encryption.
    • BitLocker: Follow the steps to enable BitLocker on an external drive.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
