Hi I've checked BIOS the only option is enable battery care , no options to limit charge to 80% . Using HP assistance to check battery health ( which is only a month old ) it says 100% and  "Adaptive Battery Optimizer: Enabled/Not Activated " how do you activate it ? Many thanks

Your machine is NOT a business class machine therefore many options/features are not available. Please use the following guide to keep battery healthy

That's shame I assumed it would be able to work on any laptop ( even my phone is capable ) . It's the first time I've bought a HP laptop ( always had Dell before ) but I think I'll be going back to Dell as I do use it for business as well as personal , and by the way the first link you posted does not work .
