@Aparna27, Hello and welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your question. I'm here to help you get things back on track.

I understand your laptop is automatically toggling Airplane Mode on and off, which can be quite frustrating. Let’s go through a few steps to help resolve this issue.

Check for Physical Wireless Switch or Hotkeys

Some HP laptops have a physical wireless switch or a function key (like F12 or Fn + F12) that toggles Airplane Mode. Make sure it’s not stuck or being accidentally triggered.

Update Network and Wireless Drivers

Outdated or corrupted drivers can cause erratic behavior.

  1. Go to Device Manager (Right-click Start > Device Manager).
  2. Expand Network adapters.
  3. Right-click your Wi-Fi adapter and select Update driver.
  4. Choose Search automatically for drivers.

Alternatively, you can download the latest drivers from the HP Support Website.

Run HP Support Assistant

HP Support Assistant can automatically detect and fix many issues.

  1. Open HP Support Assistant (or download it from here - HP Support Assistant | HP® Support).
  2. Go to Troubleshooting and Fixes > Network and Internet.
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions.

Disable Power Saving for Network Adapter

Power-saving settings may cause the adapter to reset.

  1. In Device Manager, right-click your Wi-Fi adapter > Properties.
  2. Go to the Power Management tab.
  3. Uncheck "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power".
  4. Click OK and restart your laptop.

Reset Network Settings

If the issue persists, try resetting your network settings:

  1. Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Status.
  2. Scroll down and click Network reset.
  3. Click Reset now and restart your PC.

I hope the information shared has been useful and resolves your concern.

Wishing you a smooth and hassle-free experience ahead!
