HP Envy 15t
Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

I may be too late.   I bought my Envy in 2015 when I started a business.  It has Windows 8.1 Pro and said I would get free upgrade to 10 when it came out.  Windows 10 came out, but I was too busy with my new business to take a chance on having problems when I tried to upgrade.  Covid 19 has pretty much destroyed my business, so now I have a LOT of time on my hands to try and get it upgraded. I checked on Microsoft but they want to charge me for the upgrade.  I tried HP website and keep getting that stupid virtual assistant. I need a living breathing person to figure this out. Is there a way for me to get my upgrade from Windows 8.1 Pro to Windows 10 Pro?  I know it is probably my fault for waiting, but I just couldn't risk it before. Thank you!

Hi:

There should still be a way to get the free upgrade.

Read the info at the link below, and after you do that, click on the blue Update Now button on the link below that one.

Paul, you are brilliant!  Not only did it download Windows 10, it downloaded the Pro version because I had 8.1 Pro.  The only thing that went weird is it will not allow me to see my second monitor. Usually I have 2 big monitors plus my laptop. I do work on the 2 big monitors. This will only show one big monitor and a laptop. Is that a Windows 10 thing?  Thank you so much for helping me get this computer upgraded.

You're very welcome.

The only suggestion I can offer is to make sure the graphics driver got installed.

Your notebook probably has the graphics driver on its support page.
