The more I search for an answer, the more I am finding it can't be done unless you have a Hotmail account.
I dislike the W10 mail app immensely, and wish I could use WLM.
But Microsoft no longer supports Hotmail accounts with WLM, so I have to use Microsoft Office Outlook 2007 or newer.
You may want to post your question on the Microsoft 10 apps forum. I don't see any helpful answers though.

I received an email that I think says I had marked one of my own posts as an accepted solution. Note my last post where I did get part way to ultimate target of Mail, but I still can't get addresses in Mail (or people). During the day today, I loaded Outlook and was able to get addresses to this program and thought that program would easily sync with People but still no addresses showing in People.

Sorry Paul, I am struggling with new computer and etc and missed your response of this AM. Meantime, I went after Outlook and I think that's what you did. Guess I really don't care which one I use, just sensed Microsoft was pushing Mail. It appears they have developed a program that forces manual reentry of a large amount of info. I can't imagine how they could have made that decision or missed the fact that it was happening.
If I go to Outlook, I still ran into another problem today as I can't get the import on messages to work. Any insite?
thx again for your help on seemingly impossible problems.

You're very welcome.
Unfortunately, I never imported anything but addresses into outlook.
Check this out for how to import everything into Outlook.
I just wish that Microsoft could have kept Windows Live Mail operational for Hotmail. That suited my needs just fine.
