Microsoft Windows 11

MyHP app was working well on the Windows 23H2 update, but updating to 24H2 seems to have broken it. I don't want to jump into doing a fresh installation of Windows so I want to ask if anyone else running Windows 24H2 is having this same issue. The app just crashes while opening and checking event viewer points to ucrtbase.dll being the faulty module. Running sfc /scannow and even DISM doesn't seem to see the dll file as an issue.

Oh well, reinstalling Windows fixed the issue apparently.

@kxng1

It is a NO from my machine. It ONLY asked to accept location.

I don't know why but other apps also ask to confirm location.

Regards.

Yes, there are some known issues with the myHP app after updating to the Windows 11 24H2 version. Users have reported that the app crashes on launch, and attempts to fix it using system file checks (sfc /scannow) or the DISM tool have not worked. The issue seems to be related to a specific system file (ucrtbase.dll), which isn't being flagged as problematic by these tools.

I've fixed the issue. A reinstall fixed the issue. But yes, it seems to be a new feature with the update that now shows location request from apps. You can disable it from the location settings in Windows.
