Hi @Crokk ,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you want to delete the operating system and reinstall Windows 7 32-bit on your HP Compaq Mini 730eo, you'll need to follow these general steps:

Warning: Performing these steps will erase all data on your hard disk. Make sure you have backed up any important files before proceeding.

  • Backup Your Data: Make sure to back up any important files you have on your HP Compaq Mini 730eo. You can use an external hard drive, USB flash drive, or cloud storage service to back up your data.
  • Obtain a Windows 7 Installation Media: You'll need a Windows 7 installation DVD or a bootable USB flash drive with Windows 7 installation files on it.
  • Access the BIOS/UEFI: Restart your computer and enter the BIOS or UEFI setup utility. This is usually done by pressing a specific key during the boot process, such as F2, F10, or Del. Check your computer's manual or the HP website for instructions specific to your model.
  • Change Boot Order: In the BIOS or UEFI settings, change the boot order so that your computer boots from the Windows 7 installation media. Save the changes and exit the BIOS/UEFI setup.
  • Boot from Installation Media: Insert the Windows 7 installation DVD or plug in the bootable USB flash drive with Windows 7 installation files, then restart your computer. It should boot from the installation media.
  • Begin Windows Installation: Follow the prompts to begin the Windows 7 installation process. When prompted, choose the option to install Windows and follow the on-screen instructions.
  • Delete Partitions: During the Windows installation process, you'll come to a screen that asks where you want to install Windows. At this point, you can delete existing partitions on your hard drive. Select each partition and choose to delete it until you have unallocated space.
  • Install Windows: Once you've deleted all existing partitions, select the unallocated space and proceed with the installation. Windows will create new partitions and install itself on your hard drive.
  • Complete Installation: Follow the remaining prompts to complete the installation of Windows 7. Once the installation is finished, your HP Compaq Mini 730eo will restart, and you'll be prompted to set up your user account and other settings.
  • Install Drivers and Updates: After Windows 7 is installed, make sure to install the necessary drivers for your HP Compaq Mini 730eo from the manufacturer's website. Additionally, install any Windows updates to ensure your system is up to date and secure.
