Hi @Bendegr8t,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing issues with downloading apps from the Microsoft Store on your Windows 10 HP computer. Here are several steps you can try to resolve the issue:
Check Internet Connection: Ensure your internet connection is stable. Sometimes, unstable connections can cause downloads to pause frequently.
Run the Windows Store Apps Troubleshooter:
- Go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot.
- Select Additional troubleshooters.
- Scroll down and click on Windows Store Apps.
- Click Run the troubleshooter and follow the on-screen instructions.
Reset Microsoft Store Cache:
- Press Windows key + R to open the Run dialog.
- Type wsreset.exe and press Enter.
- A blank Command Prompt window will appear, and after about ten seconds the window will close and the Store will open automatically.
Check for Windows Updates:
- Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update.
- Click Check for updates and install any available updates.
Re-register Microsoft Store:
- Right-click the Start button and choose Windows PowerShell (Admin).
- In the PowerShell window, enter the following command: Get-AppXPackage -AllUsers | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"}
- After executing the command, restart your computer.
Check Time and Date Settings:
- Ensure your computer’s date and time are set correctly. Incorrect settings can sometimes cause issues with app downloads.
- Go to Settings > Time & Language to verify and adjust these settings.
Disable Background Apps:
- Sometimes, other background applications can interfere with the Microsoft Store. Try disabling unnecessary background apps temporarily.
- Go to Settings > Privacy > Background apps and toggle off apps that you don't need running in the background.
Check Your Microsoft Account:
- Make sure your Microsoft Account is in good standing and that there are no issues. Sometimes, syncing problems with your account can affect the Store’s functionality.
- You can sign out and then sign back into your Microsoft Account through the Store app.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
