Hi @techvv11

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

I understand how unsettling it must feel to see a checksum error right at startup, especially after a BIOS update, and then notice the system clock drifting out of sync once in Windows. Thank you for sharing the details of your OMEN 30L Desktop GT13-0000i—we’ll carefully walk through steps to stabilize the BIOS and correct the clock.

Here are the actions you can take:

Perform a CMOS Reset

  • Shut down the PC and disconnect the power cable.
  • Press and hold the power button for 15 seconds to discharge residual power.
  • Open the side panel and carefully remove the CMOS battery from the motherboard.
  • Wait for about 5 minutes, then reinsert the battery securely.
  • Reconnect power and start the PC. This refreshes BIOS settings and often clears checksum errors.

Re‑enter BIOS Setup

  • At startup, press F10 to enter BIOS Setup.
  • Once inside, check the system date and time. Adjust them to match your local time.
  • Save changes and exit. This ensures the clock is aligned before Windows loads.

Update BIOS Again (Clean Flash)

  • Visit HP’s official drivers page for your model: OMEN 30L Desktop GT13-0000i Drivers.
  • Download the latest BIOS update available for your system.
  • Run the installer in Windows and allow the update to complete. This refreshes the BIOS image and can resolve checksum mismatches.

Check Windows Time Synchronization

  • In Windows, right‑click the clock on the taskbar and select “Adjust date and time.”
  • Ensure “Set time automatically” and “Set time zone automatically” are enabled.
  • Click “Sync now” under “Additional settings.” This forces Windows to align with an internet time server.

Run HP PC Hardware Diagnostics

  • Restart the PC and press F2 at startup.
  • Select “System Tests” > “Component Tests” > “RTC Test” to verify the real‑time clock hardware.
  • If the test passes, the issue is likely software/BIOS related; if it fails, it indicates a hardware clock problem.
  • Guide: HP PC Hardware Diagnostics (UEFI).

These steps should help clear the checksum error and bring your system clock back in sync, restoring normal functionality.
