HP ENVY x360 - 15-cp0012ur
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

At some point Autorotation just stopped working. I suspect it happened after I updated my Windows 10 Pro. Currently I have OS Build 19042.1620, Windows Feature Experience Pack 120.2212.4170.0 + the latest additional updates of HP software.

I tried setting up properties in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\AutoRotation:

Enable - 1

LastOrientation - 0

SensorPresent - 1

SlateEnable - 1

and  \HKLM\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\LocationAndSensors

DisableSensors - 0

I cleaned all drivers for AMD UMDF Sensor, installed and tried the old ones, currently I have the latest 1.0.0.326 from 23.01.2022. It looks like sensor works properly.

The button which blocks autorotation is available but laptop doesn't react. I tried to enter and exit the tablet mode manually. I tried old chipset and display drivers - no reaction.

I read topic https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebooks-Archive-Read-Only/Windows-10-Screen-Auto-Rotation-Not-Workin... ("To make the long story short: you need a firmware update for orientation sensor"and now I suspect that my hardware is not compatible with the latest Windows updates. I have the latest BIOS F49 though.

What can I do to recover autorotation on my x360 ENVY 15-cp0012ur?

Found a solution!

Though I already had F49 BIOS version installed, I run F49 installer again. Autorotation started working right after installation.

Some guy wrote that AMD video driver 22.4.1 changed his CPU settings in BIOS. I suppose, something wrong happened with settings that are hidden on my laptop. And I've just overridden those broken setting by running another BOIS update.

However, I am enjoying my machine. Thank you all for listening.
