HP Pavilion g6-1d48dx Notebook PC
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I'm trying to downgrade the BIOS on my Pavilion G6 1d00 series. It currently has version F.48. The laptop goes to a BSOD when it suspends or hibernates. By researching it, I've found that the BIOS is the issue, and rolling it back to F.46 is said to fix the issue.

However when I try to look for downloads for my machine, the software and drivers page gives me a page saying there are no downloads available, and the link to 'select a different OS' doesn't do anything.

Can anyone tell me where I can find the F.46 BIOS version for this unit?

Thanks!

Hi:

HP retired support for your notebook's model series since it is more than 10 years old.

That is why the support pages don't work anymore.

They just haven't been completely removed from the internet.

I can give you the info and exe links to BIOS v F.46, by you should know that the BIOS updates were written to be run on Windows 7.

I have no idea what the consequences will be if you try and downgrade the BIOS to F.46 in W10.

It may work fine, or it may render your notebook useless.

So, with that in mind, here are the info and exe file links to the BIOS revision you requested:

Thank you,

I was definitely aware of the risks, as with any BIOS writing. I know it's a 10 year old laptop, but it still works excellently except for the Windows Sleep/Hibernate crashing. I was using Linux on it previously so it didn't present a problem to me, but I've recently upgraded my own laptop and was repurposing this one for my daughter to use. It would be very inconvenient for her to have to fully shut down and restart in between classes at school if she was using it, so being able to sleep/hibernate when the lid is closed was very important.

The link above worked for the f.46 version, and as noted in the link that I had posted, it took a couple of BSOD reboots, and then starting Windows in safe mode, and now it works perfectly. I thank you for your assistance!
