Hello,

since my fingerprint sensor does not work anymore, I went looking in the BIOS for a solution: Fingerprint reset.

BlackCat1451_0-1647889980809.png

Attempting to leave BIOS I ended up with the BIOS POST Password, which I now have to insert every time the computer is started an the fingerprint sensor still does not work. Hence I have two questions: How to delete he request for inserting the BIOS POS Password and how to re-install the fingerprint sensor??

Thanks in advance and best regards,

You can enter the BIOS with an F10 keystroke to remove the password requirement in the Security menu.

You may have to "restore the security settings to factory defaults"  in order to rid yourself of the BIOS POST password annoyance.

While you are there, check to ensure that the Synaptics Fingerprint reset on reboot is not checked.

Exit BIOS by pressing F10 and save changes.

Check in the Device Manager to see if the Synaptics TPFHID device is present under the Human Interface Devices tab.

Verify that it has a driver installed.  If not, download the latest version.

You can reinstall the software for the SynapticFingeprint sensor by downloading it from the software and driver portal. The software and driver  is in the Driver-Keyboard, Mouse and Input devices section. See the hyperlink below'

There is a manual at the hyperlink below that explains everything you need to know about the BIOS in your notebook
