A fresh OEM install of Win10 Home 64-bit was successful, however updating the latest BIOS isn't.
SN:  [Personal Information Removed] is not found in HP database
Model:  DV7-6b55dx
Current BIOS is:  F.1C

The HP BIOS Utility is the only way to update the BIOS but the radio button to update is greyed out!  Can't update any other way.  WHY IS THAT?  The CMOS has no restrictions is a legacy CMOS.

New BIOS is:

F.2E Rev.A 8.2 MB

Hi:

Where are you finding that BIOS release information?

The DV7-6b55dx model series has been retired by HP since it has reached the 10 year support limit, and was never supported for W10.

The only place that I know of where you can find drivers for that model is from this reputable 3rd party driver website and according to that site, the PC you are working on already has the latest BIOS update installed.

Well, I'm learning from an expert!  I will check out the 3rd party site.  Thank you so much.
