So my BIOS is corrupted. On switching on laptop capslock light keeps on blinking. I was thinking to recover it through USB but on HP website I am not able to find BIOS for windows 11. By default when I bought laptop it was windows 10 and for windows 10 BIOS are present but since I updated my OS to windows11 I am not finding any BIOS. In this case what should I do? Help would be appreciated

Hi @Sabo6000,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP Pavilion 15 laptop's BIOS is corrupted, and you're unable to find a BIOS for Windows 11 on HP's website, don't worry! The BIOS itself is not dependent on the operating system version (Windows 10 or Windows 11). You can use the available BIOS for Windows 10 to perform the recovery, as it will be compatible regardless of your OS version.
Here’s what you can do to recover the BIOS using a USB drive:
Download the BIOS Update
- Visit the HP Support website and go to the Software and Driver Downloads section.
- Enter your laptop's model number (HP Pavilion 15) to find the correct drivers and BIOS updates.
- Download the latest BIOS update listed for Windows 10.
Create a BIOS Recovery USB Drive
- Format a USB flash drive to FAT32.
- Run the BIOS update file you downloaded.
- During the installation process, select the option to Create Recovery USB Drive.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to copy the BIOS recovery files to the USB drive.
Perform BIOS Recovery
- Turn off your laptop.
- Insert the BIOS recovery USB into your laptop.
- Press and hold the Windows + B keys, then press the Power button for 3-5 seconds and release the power button while continuing to hold the Windows + B keys.
- The system should start BIOS recovery, and you may see the screen flicker, followed by a recovery process.
- Once the BIOS recovery completes, your system should restart, and the issue should be resolved.
This process should help you recover the corrupted BIOS, even if your system was updated to Windows 11.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
