Hi @vinay_18,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP hardware diagnostics tool is not updating the BIOS, you can try the following steps to troubleshoot and resolve the issue.

Preliminary Checks

  1. Check Power Source: Ensure your device is plugged into a power source and not running on battery.
  2. Stable Internet Connection: Make sure you have a stable internet connection if the update requires downloading files.

Steps to Update BIOS Manually

Identify Your HP Product:

  • Go to the HP support website: HP Support.
  • Enter your product number to find the correct BIOS update for your device.

Download the BIOS Update:

  • Download the latest BIOS update file from the HP support website.

Create a BIOS Update USB Drive:

  • Insert a USB drive into your computer.
  • Run the BIOS update file you downloaded.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to create a BIOS update USB drive.

Restart and Enter BIOS:

  • Restart your computer.
  • Press the necessary key (usually F10, F2, Esc, or Del) to enter the BIOS setup.

Update BIOS Using USB Drive:

  • In the BIOS setup, look for an option to update the BIOS (often under the "Advanced" or "Firmware" tab).
  • Select the USB drive as the update source and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the update.

Using HP Support Assistant

Open HP Support Assistant:

  • If you have HP Support Assistant installed, open it.

Check for Updates:

  • Click on "Check for updates and messages."
  • HP Support Assistant will search for available updates for your system, including BIOS updates.

Install BIOS Update:

  • If a BIOS update is found, follow the on-screen instructions to install it.

By following these steps, you should be able to update the BIOS on your HP device.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
