Hey, I recently bought an HP victus 15 fb2082wm and the BIOS version was F.07, The most recent one in the HP driver page is F.08 Rev A which I of course downloaded and tried to update the BIOS using the app but the app says that my device isn't compatible even though it's the same exact model after double checking. I tried flashing the BIOS to a flash drive and the bios recovery did recognize it and after hitting 100% it showed an error BIOS 500. any help is appreciated

@ahmedhussein99, Welcome to HP Support Community,
Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue
If you are experiencing an error while trying to update the BIOS on your HP Victus 15 fb2082wm, it might be due to a compatibility issue or an error during the installation process. Here's a step-by-step guide to helping you troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue:
Verify Compatibility:
- Double-check that the BIOS version you downloaded is specifically for your model (HP Victus 15 fb2082wm). Sometimes, downloads can be misinterpreted due to similar model names.
Ensure Stable Power Source:
- Make sure your laptop is connected to a reliable power source. It's crucial to perform updates when the computer is plugged into power to prevent any interruption during the process.
Use the HP Support Assistant:
- Try using the HP Support Assistant software to verify the correct version for your model and download the update directly through the app. This software often simplifies the update process and checks for compatibility automatically.
Update via UEFI Menu:
- If you've already flashed the BIOS update to a USB, boot into the BIOS recovery environment and retry the update, ensuring that you follow all on-screen instructions.
Check for Corrupted Files:
- Verify that the BIOS update file was not corrupted during the download. Delete the file and try downloading it again, preferably from the official HP website.
Seek Professional Assistance:
- If you still encounter problems, consider reaching out to HP support for detailed assistance. They may be able to guide you through advanced troubleshooting steps tailored to your specific situation.
Recovery Options:
- If the BIOS flash process fails repeatedly, you may need to engage with HP for recovery options or consider visiting an authorized service center.
I hope this helps.
Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.
Take care and have a good day.
