@garik_59, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your BIOS update!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I noticed you mentioned that your OMEN Laptop - 17-cb1902ng is running Windows 11. Just to clarify — this model officially supports Windows 10 for BIOS updates, so I’d like to confirm if you’re indeed using Windows 11. If so, that might explain some compatibility issues.

Also, I’m curious — is there any specific reason you’re looking to update the BIOS? Are you facing any performance issues or bugs? Knowing a bit more about the situation will help me guide you better!

Looking forward to your response. We'll figure this out together! 👍

Take care, and have an amazing day!

Hello, thank you for your answer, around the end of winter I reinstalled Windows 10, then the BIOS update came, when I updated everything via Windows Update, after that the problems with WASD in games started, I thought it was a problem with Windows, but after reinstalling to 11 about a month ago the problem did not disappear, I also thought that the problems were due to temperature, but after I took the laptop to a good service, the temperatures dropped very well, but problem stay with me=(

Now ver BIOS F.45 rev.A

@garik_59, Thanks for keeping us updated! I completely understand how frustrating this must be, especially when you've already tried multiple solutions. But don't worry—we’ll work through this together.

Since you've confirmed that the issue persists across both Windows 10 and 11, and even after servicing your laptop for temperature concerns, it seems likely that the BIOS update may be affecting your keyboard's functionality.

A couple of things we can try:

Rolling Back the BIOS – If the issue started right after the BIOS update, you might want to try reverting to a previous version. You can do this by:

Going to the HP Software and Driver Downloads page.

Searching for your laptop model (OMEN 17-cb1902ng).

Checking if an older BIOS version is available for download.

Following the rollback steps from official guide here.

Checking the Keyboard Drivers – Just to rule this out, try reinstalling your keyboard driver:

Open Device Manager (Win + X > Device Manager).

Expand Keyboards, right-click on your keyboard, and select Uninstall device.

Restart your laptop to let Windows reinstall it automatically.

BIOS Reset – Sometimes, resetting BIOS settings to default can help:

Restart your laptop and press F10 repeatedly to enter the BIOS menu.

Look for an option like Restore Defaults or Reset to Factory Settings (wording may vary).

Save and exit, then check if the issue persists.

Take care, and have an amazing day!
