Hi @bookstore1369

Welcome to the HP Support Community. Thanks for bringing this to our notice.

I see that you are not able to update the BIOS of your system and you are getting an error related to it. Do not worry we are here to help you fix the issue as soon as possible.

  • May I know from when are you facing this issue?
  • May I know if you have made any hardware or software related changes to your system?
  • Do you have a lot of data installed on your notebook?

If so, I would suggest you delete some data and then try reinstalling drivers:

For more troubleshooting steps, please refer to this article: Click here (Although the article description is for a different issue, we could still try those steps to resolve the issue)

Step 1: Empty the Recycle Bin
Step 2: Delete temporary files and directories
Step 3: Remove unwanted programs
Step 5: Confirm that enough hard drive space is available

Update bios using the method in the article below

https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c00007682

<update the bios when windows does not start>

using a bios recovery USB disc.

The bios management, by default, was looking for bios files on partition 2 (EFI partition).

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

First off I want to thank everyone for their input. I tried everything you suggested and nothing worked. Then about 2 or 3 days ago the update on my support assistant page went away without the Bios update ever being installed. I don't know what happened it just quit showing it. So I never did the Bios update and the laptop works fine so I think I'll just leave it alone for now. Again I want to thank everyone for their input
