Hi @DW669699

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

A BIOS update is typically performed to improve system stability, add new features, or fix bugs. It can also enhance compatibility with new hardware or address security vulnerabilities. If your laptop is doing a BIOS update, it might have been triggered automatically by the manufacturer or manually initiated.

How Long Does It Take?

  • A BIOS update usually takes 5 to 20 minutes. However, the duration can vary depending on your system and the size of the update.

What to Do If It Doesn't Stop?

Check for Activity:

  • Look for signs like blinking LEDs or fan movement, which indicate the update is still in progress.
  • If there’s activity, give it more time to complete.

Ensure Stable Power:

  • Make sure your laptop is connected to a reliable power source. Avoid unplugging it during the update.

Force Restart (Last Resort):

  • If the update is stuck for an unusually long time (e.g., hours) and there are no signs of activity, you can try a force restart:
    • Hold the power button for 10-15 seconds to shut down the laptop.
    • Wait a minute, then turn it back on. The system may resume or restart the update.

BIOS Recovery:
