Backup the entire laptop including OS, system files and other data

I want to backup all of my data of my hard drive to safe guard against hard drive failure. Would like to inquire whether windows 10 backup function will work for the same ? I am also considering other options such as Acronis backup or Macrium Reflect .

Please suggest best option as I have 1tb ext drive for my 1tb laptop hdrive.

Personally, I would not trust any built-in or Microsoft solutions -- as I've read about too many problems with these, especially the latter, that fail when you most need them.

I have used Macrium Reflect for this function for a lot of years now and have not had it fail me once.
