Hello . My laptop is about 4 months out of warranty. I have barely used it much at all. I turned it on noticed a burning smell before it turned off. No power/lights and wouldn’t charge. After opening to inspect, it looks as tho the capacitor on the usb board is blown. HP wouldn’t help without charging almost the cost of a brand new laptop. What do you recommend?

Hi @Dvotd122,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd be glad to help you!
Kindly disconnect from the power source immediately. Do not turn on or use your laptop.
Is there any damage to the property or any personal injury?
If none of that, I recommend you contact phone support for further assistance.
If yes, kindly share more details to help you further. Thanks
